The horse


The Township of Putanges is a region conducive to the breeding of horses. The rich lands of the right bank offering a greasy grass.

The town is very rich in stud since she has three. On its 1557 acres of land, more than 500 hectares are devoted to horse breeding.

Haras de Fresnaye le Buffard
: In 1919, Marcel Boussac as it creates a large stable of racehorses and set up his farm. Marcel Boussac has achieved an impressive record including six victories in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, 12 in the Prix du Jockey Club, 5 in the Prix de Diane, etc.. More recently, the new owner, Mr. Niarckos, brilliantly won October 3, 2004 at Longchamp on Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe with Bago.

Haras du Ribardon
: property of Mr. and Mrs. Joel Hallais, he specializes in the walker. Farming, about 30 broodmares, stallions has five, including the famous Sancho Panza who is listed among the top 40 stallions. Installed in 1983, Mr. Hallais led his team topped the list of French stables in 2003.


Haras du Gazon
Perth (1896-1908) was born. In racing history, Perth is the only horse who won all four races leading to a three-year, Poule d'Essai, Jockey Club, Grand Prix de Paris and Prix Royal Oak. Perth died at the age of 12. His skeleton was preserved and is visible at the Haras du Pin. Perth Prize is a race dedicated to him.
