Megaliths
"La Longue Roche" in Giel-Courteilles
Of the forty-odd megaliths in Orne, 7 are around Putanges.
The “Long Rock” at Giel-Courteilles is a Celtic dressed stone and is to be found near the bridge at La Villette, off the D781.
"La Pierre des Bignes" in Habloville
This is an impressive dolmen or stone table attesting to human presence here in the Neolithic period. Nearby is a tumulus 40m in diameter.
Numerous worked flints and arrow heads have been found. Take the D129 towards the Haras de Fresnay- le Buffard, and it is on the right.
