The “Living and Speaking Church” was the work of Abbé Victor Paysant, who worked on its decoration from 1876 to his death in 1921. However, the next Abbé was ordered by the Ecclesiastical Authorities to remove the paintings and bury the numerous statues. Church service : the first saturday of the month, 6.30 pm |

At the beginning of 2004 the mayor of the commune, Guy Béchet, undertook a sponsored walk to Rome, to raise funds to restore the decoration. The work on the exterior was finished in September 2004. The interior work was achieved with the help of old postcards and the memories of a centenarian in the village, restoring it to its pre-1921 appearance. It was inaugurated on 7 October 2006 by the Bishop of Sées.
